National Hot 100 OL Back from UT with Final 3

Josh McNeil is a National Hot 100 Offensive Line prospect that visited Tennessee this weekend. This Army All-American has narrowed his list of favorites to three.

Josh McNeil is a member of the National Hot 100, and he will also represent the West in the / Army All-American Game. When it was pointed out that this scout will be torn on who to root for with Mississippi and Louisiana representing the West in that game, McNeil agreed.

"We're going to end up playing against all of the guys we'll be playing with in college," said McNeil with a laugh. "All we can do is go out and represent the state of Mississippi and hope to impress some people."

McNeil is one of the most heavily recruited linemen in the south this year, and Tennessee had its chance to impress him this weekend when he went to Knoxville for his fifth and final visit.

"It went really well; I had a great trip. Rob Smith was my host there. We got up Friday morning. Right when I got there, I met up with Coach Fulmer, and we talked for about an hour. He talked about the opportunity at UT. He said that their two centers were seniors this year, and they really need a center. If I came in in shape, and did the things I needed to do that I could contribute as a freshman.

"We then ate with all of the players. Then we went out with our host. We went to practice on Saturday. It was pretty light. They were getting back on the groove of things. I paid close attention to the OL. I was watching the technique and see if I could pick up anything I could use in the All-American game."

"After practice I had another meeting with coach Fulmer, and I met with my position coach, Coach Stephens. We went over the schemes, and how they run their offense."

McNeil has now taken all five of his official visits. How did Tennessee compare, and did anything stand out to him that was different with the Vols?

"I've been to Florida, LSU, Mississippi State, USC, and now Tennessee. It was a great visit; they're all great visits. I had a good time on all of them. I guess what was different were the players at Tennessee, because they come from all over the nation. They have players from everywhere. It's kind of big melting pot and a big family."

How has his list of favorite shaken out now?

"I'm going to try and make a decision when I feel ready. I'm going to sit down with my parents, have a long talk and pray a lot and find the place where I felt the most comfortable. Right now it's LSU, Tennessee and Mississippi State as my final three."

McNeil doesn't have a time table for his commitment, but with all of his official visits done, he could make a decision at any time.
