Vols Land In-State LB

Todd Cox, the pre-season No. 4 rated prospect from the state of Tennessee, verbally committed to Vols earlier today over Florida, Miami, Auburn and Southern Cal. Cox, 6-1 and 195 pounds, is the No. 17th rated linebacker prospect in the country by Scout.com and a member of the Scout.com National and Southern Top 100.

Here is what Todd Cox told Scout.com - "I committed to Trooper Taylor (RB Coach) and Phillip Fulmer at lunch today," said Cox. "I have always followed Tennessee and I just feel real comfortable there. I also really like the coaches."

Here is what Scott Kennedy (Scout.com South Recruiting Analyst) says about Todd Cox - "Todd is a hard hitting linebacker that has the size and the speed that he could end up at safety or stay at his natural position of linebacker. He's a headhunter that excels at going towards the line of scrimmage."

Here is what Jamie Newberg (Scout.com National Recruiting Analyst) says about Todd Cox - "Cox is kind of a tweener between safety and linebacker. But that doesn't change the fact that he's a physical player that can really go get the ball. I mean he's one of the most physical linebackers in the entire country."
