Two Tennessee Vols are listed among the top 50 players in the upcoming NFL
Draft. Linebacker Kevin Burnett and offensive tackle Michael Munoz rank
among the top half-hundred, according to The Forecasters rankings published
in The Tennessean.
Burnett checks in at No. 40, Munoz at No. 42. Both were Vol captains in both
2003 and 2004. Interestingly enough, several so-called draft ''experts''
project Munoz will not be picked until Round 3, 4 or 5.
The Forecasters rankings list five SEC players among the top 20 Draft
prospects. They are:
7. Thomas Davis, safety, Georgia
8. Ronnie Brown, running back, Auburn
14. Corey Webster, cornerback, LSU
15. Cadillac Williams, running back, Auburn
20. David Pollack, running back, Georgia
Other top-50 prospects from the SEC are Florida linebacker Channing Crowder
(21), LSU defensive end Marcus Spears (22), Auburn cornerback Carlos Rogers
(24), Ole Miss offensive tackle Marcus Johnson (26), South Carolina receiver
Troy Williamson (32), Burnett (40), Munoz (42) and Florida running back
Ciatrick Fason (45).
