Vol fans will find an interesting preview of Tennessee football 2005 by visiting

Pete Fiutak notes that the 2004 Vols lost twice to a ''national-title caliber Auburn squad'' but now ''it's Tennessee's turn to be the SEC national championship star.''

Fiutak points out that UT has excellent depth ''everywhere but on the offensive line'' and that ''the defensive front seven will be unbelievable.'' Florida, Game 3 at LSU, Game 5 vs. Georgia and Game 6 at Alabama, Fiutak says fans can ''book the tickets for the SEC title game, and possibly Pasadena.''

Fiutak lists tackle Jesse Mahelona as the Vols' best defensive player and tailback Gerald Riggs as its best offensive player. He tabs center David Ligon as the ''key player to a successful season.''

Noting UT's ''brutal conference road games,'' Fiutak says a national title is unlikely. Still, he says anything less than an SEC championship ''will be a massive disappointment.''

Fiutak's colorful look at the Vols also lists what he considers to be their 10 best players. For hardcore fans suffering football withdrawal pains, this is a well-written, must-read piece.
