RECRUITING: Another Fulmer for UT?

Tennessee football fans shouldn't have any trouble remembering the name of the top wide receiver prospect in West Virginia this year.

Chris Fulmer is a 6-2, 185-pounder with 4.6 speed and a resume that should catch the eye of Vol head man Phillip Fulmer. Chris caught 69 passes for 930 yards as a freshman at Nitro High School, added 109 grabs for 1577 yards as a sophomore and tacked on 66 receptions for 1034 yards as a junior. He has scored 29 career touchdowns, including 15 as a sophomore.

Tabbed first-team all-state last fall, young Fulmer attended camps at West Virginia, UT and Eastern Kentucky this summer. He lists WVU as his early favorite, with Tennessee, EKU, Penn State and Michigan close behind. None has offered a scholarship to date.

"West Virginia is only two and a half hours away, and I'd like to stay somewhat close", he told Allen Wallace of Scout.com. "I really their (Mountaineers') work ethic there, and it's a great program that is still getting better."

Tennessee, he added, "has great coaches and they just know how to win."

Fulmer describes himself as "a good possession receiver," noting that "I run good routes and can make the hard catches."

Is there another Fulmer in the Vols' future?

Stay tuned.
