Pollsters like SEC

If the Associated Press poll is correct, Tennessee will face four of America's top 10 college football teams over the next eight weeks.

AP voters recently tabbed LSU No. 3, Florida No. 6, Georgia No. 7 and Notre Dame No. 10. No one else on UT's schedule graced the top 25.

The USA Today Coaches poll also has LSU No. 3, with Georgia No. 6, Florida No. 7, Notre Dame No. 12 and Alabama No. 24.

The most in-depth poll is the one done by Collegefootballnews.com, which ranks all 119 programs. It has LSU No. 2, Florida No. 4, Georgia No. 6, Notre Dame No. 10, Alabama No. 26, Alabama-Birmingham No. 35, South Carolina No. 37, Vanderbilt No. 50, Ole Miss No. 55, Kentucky No. 60 and Memphis No. 71.

Tennessee, meanwhile, ranks No. 7 in the CFN.com poll, No. 5 in the AP poll and tied for fourth in the Coaches poll.

If you assume Tennessee will beat the teams ranked behind it and lose to the teams ranked ahead of it, this is how the various pollsters project the Vols' final record:

Coaches: 10-1 (the loss being to No. 3 LSU)

Associated Press: 10-1 (the loss being to No. 3 LSU)

Collegefootballnews.com: 8-3 (the losses being to No. 2 LSU, No. 4 Florida and No. 6 Georgia).
