Tennessee's football team was a preseason pick to play in the Rose Bowl this year. One game into the SEC schedule, however, the Vols have dropped to the Capital One Bowl (formerly the Citrus).
At least, that's the way the folks at Collegefootballnews.com see it. In their newly updated "Bowl Projections" feature, they have Tennessee
facing Michigan State
Jan. 2 at Orlando. They also list Tennessee as a possibility for the Fiesta Bowl, the Cotton Bowl and the Outback Bowl.
CFN.com's experts project LSU to face Southern Cal for the national title in the Rose Bowl, which clearly assumes the Tigers will defeat Tennessee Saturday night in Baton Rouge. The website has Georgia playing in the Outback Bowl, however, which implies its analysts expect the Vols to beat the Bulldogs when they meet Oct. 8 in Knoxville.
CFN.com's revised bowl projections for SEC teams are as follows:
ROSE: LSU vs. Southern Cal
SUGAR: Florida vs. Louisville
CAPITAL ONE: Tennessee vs. Michigan State
OUTBACK: Georgia vs. Purdue
COTTON: Auburn vs. Texas A&M
PEACH: South Carolina vs. Georgia Tech
MUSIC CITY: Vanderbilt vs. Wisconsin
