Weems picks Hogs

One of the country's top junior college forwards has picked Arkansas over Tennessee.

Sonny Weems, a 6-6 swing man from Arkansas-Fort Smith, has decided to stay in-state and play for Stan Heath's Razorbacks. Weems said earlier he had narrowed his options to Arkansas and Bruce Pearl's Volunteers.

Weems made an official visit to the UT campus last month.

Weems' decision comes one week after another of Tennessee's prime prospects, Bolivar point guard Willie Kemp, announced he'd stay closer to home and attend the University of Memphis.

Still, the Vols have two excellent prospects visiting this weekend for the Georgia football game – 6-7 forward Jeremy Williams of Memphis Hamilton and 6-3 guard Josh Tabb of Cincinnati's Harmony Prep School. Williams is also looking at Alabama-Birmingham and Colorado.

In addition, Tennessee still has a shot at Duke Crews, a 6-6 forward from Hampton, Va. Crews, who visited UT last weekend, is also being recruited heavily by North Carolina and Wake Forest, among others.
