QB Loves Visit To Knoxville

Ohio QB Arvell Nelson is one of the most highly recruited players at his position in the midwest and he spent this past weekend visiting the Tennessee Volunteers who just happen to be among the top 2 contenders for his signature. He came away thoroughly impressed with the Vols and he talks about the trip right here with Scout.com.

"It was nice, real nice. Just to get down there with the players and all that and the coaching staff was great. I'd probably give it a 9 or a 10. It was a great visit," Arvell Nelson said.

Nelson is encouraged by the change at offensive coordinator in Knoxville.

"Coach Cutcliffe is one of the best quarterback coaches in the country and they think I can come in and compete for a quarterback job early. They said they just needed to bring in some playmakers like me and Raymond to get this team back on track."

One other thing he enjoyed about the visit was Neyland Stadium.

"The facilities there at Tennessee are great. The stadium was huge. 107,000 each week is really nice."

Nelson now says that the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Vols are tied at the top.

"It's between Iowa and Tennessee really. There isn't a leader yet."

What sticks out about each of those programs?

Iowa: "I love the quarterback situation and I've known their staff for a long time. They just offer a lot. They have a great sports management field."

Tennessee: "They have a great offense and a great offensive coordinator. They love to throw the ball around a lot."
