Vols Impress Watson

Dekoda Watson was one of the most impressive prospects we saw all year at our Scout.com Combines in the summer months. His speed off the edge made him just about un-blockable in pass rushing situations and he has a nice frame to add weight down the road. He took his talents to Knoxville this weekend for an official visit and he talks all about it right here with Scout.com.

"It was impressive. I've never seen the stadium in person but we stood there and it was huge. I liked it all a lot," Dekoda Watson said.

Phillip Fulmer did his best to convince the Carolina star to come to Tennessee.

"Coach Fulmer says he loves my athleticism and how I come off the ball. Just my speed and my reaction to get to the football."

What stood out most about the visit?

"I liked Coach Fulmer's house. I loved the creek and all that. That was one thing I really liked. It just made me look ahead and think how that could be me in a couple of years."

Watson was hosted by the player that the Vols call "Big E."

"Eric Young was my host. He's a really nice and funny guy. Very down to earth and just very, very, very funny."

On Saturday night Bruce Pearl's basketball Vols logged a big win over the undefeated Florida Gators in front of a sellout crowd and a dramatic scene in Knoxville. Dekoda was in attendance and he loved the entire night.

"The basketball game was wild. They stood up the whole time. I mean, nobody in that place sat down the entire game. I was very impressed by it." Tennessee appears to have really made an impact on Watson but he will take his time to be sure he makes the right choice.

"I'm still going to take all my visits and look at all my options. I go to Virginia Tech next weekend and then I'll sit down and think about things."
