Greg Adkins, Tennessee's recruiting coordinator for the past few years, said the in-state talent in Tennessee is better this year than last year.

The Vols have already offered scholarships to four local products: Maryville receiver Tyler Maples, Catholic linebacker-running back Harrison Smith, Alcoa defensive end Rae Sykes and Austin-East athlete Anthony Anderson.

UT is also recruiting three other area players: linemen John Bruhin and Jared McGaha of Powell and athlete Kyrus Lanxter of Alcoa.

Around the state, the Vols have offered fullback-linebacker Kevin Cooper of Chattanooga Baylor, receiver Todd Campbell of Franklin, linebacker Chris Donald of Huntington and athlete Golden Tate of Hendersonville.
