Can Vols unseat 'Horns?

It's no secret that Tennessee football fans relish two types of articles: 1. Those that say good things about UT and 2. Those that say bad things about Florida.

Rejoice, Volunteer Nation. The folks at have posted an article that does both.

A Tom Dienhart piece entitled "Who can hook the Horns, and Why?" lists Tennessee among six teams capable of dethroning the reigning NCAA champ Texas Longhorns in the fall.

Here's what Dienhart says the Vols need to do to supplant the ‘Horns:

Have Erik Ainge listen to new coordinator David Cutcliffe. If Cutcliffe tells Ainge to give Smokey a bath because that's what Peyton Manning did, Ainge needs to ask: Pert or Head & Shoulders? Ainge is the key to the Vols' rebounding from their 2005 funk. He started fixing himself in the spring by working on mechanics, but he must continue to improve.

Dienhart also lists Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Southern Cal and Florida as teams capable of foiling Texas' bid to repeat. What makes his Florida comments so appealing to Vol fans is that Dienhart takes a backhand shot at Gator quarterback Chris Leak, who remains a marked man in the Valley of the Vols.

Here's what Dienhart says the Gators need to do to challenge Texas:

Champion Chris Leak. Hug him. Love him. Praise him. Pat him on the rear end -- every day, if needed. It's all about avoiding a quarterback controversy. Tim Tebow arrived for spring drills, and he looked damn good. But Leak and coach Urban Meyer are saying all the right things. Tebow will play, but Leak is the starter. Still, the Gators may not be able to fulfill big expectations with a quarterback house divided.
