The note, entitled "Safety first for Dolphins rookie," was written by Dan Pompei and published in the NFL Insider segment. It reads as follows:
"Miami rookie DB Jason Allen has shown the skills to be an excellent cover man as a safety or a cornerback. In his first minicamp, he lined up at free safety, where he probably can make the biggest impact right away, and nickel corner.
"He also showed great confidence and more than a little chutzpah; he chided an official after one play for not throwing a flag."
Allen, who missed the last half of his senior season at UT because of a dislocated hip, seems to be healthy, happy and headed for a fine career in the pro ranks.
