Surgery for Hostetter

Tennessee football player Jared Hostetter spent Wednesday morning at UT Medical Center. Head athletic trainer Jason McVeigh said the junior defensive end underwent a minor surgical procedure to remove hardware from a previous surgery.

A Louisa, Ky., native, Hostetter had the operation in the morning and was released around noon. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Hostetter began his UT career as a linebacker, then moved to defensive end. He redshirted in 2003, then saw nagging injuries limit him to three mopup appearances in 2004. The 6-4, 290-pounder did not see action in 2005.
