Ali Christoph selected preseason All-American

Tennessee senior midfielder Ali Christoph received a spot on Soccer America magazine's Preseason All-America squad, the publication has announced.

Christoph, who was selected to three All-America squads in 2005, stands as the lone returning first-team All-Southeastern Conference player for head coach Angela Kelly's squad that held a 15-6-2 record and won the SEC regular-season and tournament titles. The Columbus, Ohio, native was joined on the squad by Vanderbilt senior goalkeeper Tyler Griffin as the only two SEC players on the 22-player team.

Defending national champion Portland saw three Pilots garner recognition, while UCLA and Notre Dame both had a pair of athletes gain a spot. Christoph and her teammates will face off against three players on the list this season, as Vandy, Penn State (Ali Krieger, midfielder) and Stanford (Rachel Buehler, defender) all had one player selected.
