CFN tabs three Vols

Three Tennessee offensive squad members are part of the's Midseason All-America teams. Senior offensive lineman Arron Sears and junior wide receiver Robert Meachem made the Web site's first team, while junior quarterback Erik Ainge was a second-team selection.

Arron Sears is an SEC Jacobs Blocking Award candidate who has started 29 consecutive games. He is leading an offensive line that has allowed only five sacks in six games this season. For his efforts earlier this year against Marshall, Sears was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week. The preseason Playboy All-America has 19 career starts at left tackle, six at right tackle, four at right guard and one at left guard.

Robert Meachem is the Division I-A leader in receiving yards per game at 112.5 and makes up half of the nation's top receiving duo with teammate Jayson Swain (1,053 yards). He has 34 catches this year for 675 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 19.9 yards per catch. Meachem is the Vols leading active receiver with 1,517 yards (88 catches).

Erik Ainge received the SEC's Offensive Player of the Week nod and national honors from Walter Camp and Cingular for his performance at Georgia. He leads the SEC in all three major passing categories -- efficiency rating (171.6), yards per game (276.2) and total offense (269.0). The right-hander is now 13-4 in his career as a starter and has two games this year of 300+ yards and two with four touchdowns.
