SEC reprimands Fulmer

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Southeastern Conference Commissioner Mike Slive has issued a public reprimand to Tennessee head football coach Phillip Fulmer for his recent public comments regarding officiating.

"Coach Fulmer has violated the Southeastern Conference Code of Ethics," Slive said. "SEC Bylaw 10.5.4 clearly states that the coaches, players and support personnel shall refrain from public criticism of officials.

"I have reminded Coach Fulmer of his responsibility to comply with the policies of the SEC and this rule. Any further violation of conference policies of this nature may result in additional penalties."

Fulmer issued the following statement: "I received the expected reprimand from Commissioner Slive regarding my comments on officiating this season. I should have worked through the SEC office channels to express my frustrations."
