Three players who toiled for the University of Tennessee last fall rank among the top five National Football League Draft prospects at their respective positions. That's according to Mike Mayock of NFL.com.
The three are receiver Robert Meachem
, guard Arron Sears
and defensive tackle Justin Harrell
Like all of the other draft analysts, Mayock lists Georgia Tech's Calvin Johnson as the No.1 receiver available. Ted Ginn of Ohio State is No. 2, followed by LSU's Dwayne Bowe, Meachem and Ohio State's Anthony Gonzalez.
Mayock tabs Auburn's Ben Grubbs No. 1 among guards. Justin Blalock of Texas is second, followed by Sears, Iowa's Marshal Yanda and Boston College's Joshua Beekman.
Louisville's Amobi Okaye tops Mayock's list of defensive tackles. Michigan's Alan Branch is No. 2, followed by Harrell, Florida's Ray McDonald and North Carolina State's Tank Tyler.
Meachem is the best bet among ex-Vols to be a first-round draft pick later this month because of the potential impact rookie receivers are perceived to have at the pro level. Harrell and Sears are showing up on roughly half of the first-round draft projections.
