Capacity crowd expected for softball

The University of Tennessee Women's Athletic Department is expecting capacity-sized crowds for the final home softball series versus top-ranked Alabama this Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6.

A limited number of tickets remain and are only available for purchase the day of the game. All seating at Tennessee Field in Tyson Park is general admission seating and is subject to availability.

Gates will open at 11:30 a.m. each day. Fans are reminded that umbrellas and outside food and drink are prohibited in Tennessee Field at Tyson Park. Parking is free; fans choosing to park along the outfield fence do so at their own risk.

The Tennessee Lady Volunteers would also like to remind fans that the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday will be broadcast live by ESPN2 at 1 p.m. and Sunday's single game will be broadcast on ESPN starting at 1 p.m.

The Sports Animal (99.1 & 99.3 FM, 990 AM), with play-by-play by the "Voice of the Lady Vols" Mickey Dearstone, will broadcast the doubleheader May 5, with the pre-game show starting at 12:45.

Admission prices are $5 for adults and $3 for youth ages 18 and under.

LADY VOLS BASKETBALL: Autograph Day with the 2007 NCAA Champion Tennessee Lady Vol basketball team will be held on Saturday, May 5, at the Regal Soccer Stadium exhibit hall from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Fans attending the autograph session should look for the signs indicating where to queue up in line. Players and coaches will be seated at various tables in the exhibit hall. Fans are reminded that they are limited to one autograph item per person, per player.

Tennessee Traditions will have souvenir items for sale. Host Communications will also be on hand so that fans can pre-order a copy of the first-ever Lady Vol Basketball Season Highlights DVD due out in late May/early June.

Host will be selling a limited quantity of commemorative 2006-07 game programs as well as the remaining individual Lady Vol game posters from the past season.

The Regal Soccer Stadium can be reached by traveling on Neyland Drive and turning onto Leinard Lane. After crossing the second set of railroad tracks, the field will be on your left, with parking available all around the Stadium.
