Pat Summitt back home and OK

Tennessee basketball coach Pat Summitt was released from the hospital Friday after being admitted for dehydration, according to UT officials.

Pat Summitt was released from St. Mary's Medical Center on Friday morning and was "at home and will be resuming normal activities," according to Debby Jennings, associate athletics director for media relations.

Summitt was admitted to the hospital Thursday afternoon due to dehydration. She was treated and kept under observation overnight.

Summitt, who celebrated her 55th birthday last week, had just finished a portion of her various summer camps on Wednesday. She fainted at her home Thursday. Elite Camp began Friday, and Spectator Camp also is scheduled for this weekend. Those events are expected to be held as planned.

The renovation of Thompson-Boling Arena has left that site off limits for camps so other facilities are being used on and off campus, including the sweltering Stokely Athletics Center.
