Foster scored from a yard out on the second play of the quarter, capping a 13-play, 67-yard drive and giving UT a 10-0 lead. Foster added a four-yard TD run to cap a seven-play, 65-yard march on UT's next possession. The 17-0 lead was threatened when ULL marched to the Vol 26-yard line but a Michael Desormeaux pass bounced off the hands of Jason Chery and into the arms of Vol defensive end Antonio Reynolds, who lumbered 70 yards for a TD that widened the gap to 24-0.
