UT has allowed a nation's best three sacks while the run game has picked up, averaging 155.8 yards per game – 47 more than a year ago. Vandy averages 165.5 on the ground but only 4.0 per carry. Vandy has allowed 15 sacks.


UT quarterback Erik Ainge hasn't put up big numbers lately but Cutcliffe insists he is managing the game well and being unselfish. Ainge is third in the SEC in passing efficiency and is completing 64 percent of his passes. Vandy's Adams is averaging 84 passing yards per game, 146 as a starter. He's also averaged 41 rushing yards in four starts. Backup Chris Nickson, benched after the sixth game, and Adams have combined to rush for 444 yards.


UT's Arian Foster has 883 yards and ripped Vandy for a career-high 223 yards as a redshirt freshman two years ago. Jackson-Garrison and Jennings have combined for 811 yards.


UT's top three wideouts each have set single-season records for catches and yards: Lucas Taylor (56 for 782), Austin Rogers (41 for 490) and Josh Briscoe (36 for 305). Rogers has been trying to break the habit of jumping before he makes a catch. Tight end Chris Brown has 27 catches. Vandy's Bennett is the SEC's all-time receptions leader. George Smith (23) and Sean Walker (20) are the complements.



UT held Georgia and Vanderbilt to less than 200 rushing yards combined, although the season average of 163.6 isn't good. Tackles Demonte Bolden and Dan Williams are playing better. Vandy allows 128.3 rushing per game.


UT's Ryan Karl has played three straight strong games. Rico McCoy and Jerod Mayo are tied for the lead in tackles with 78. Goff will be the best linebacker on the field. Marcus Buggs has 63 stops, 11 behind the line.


UT's Eric Berry set a UT record with 207 interception return yards. He has a team-high four picks this season. No other Vol has more than one. Vandy's Moore has five picks, tied for second in the SEC, and eight pass deflections. Corner Myron Lewis has 11 pass breakups.

UT has improved net punting from last in the nation after three games to 38th. Daniel Lincoln is 18 of 21 on field goals. Vols lead SEC in kick returns and Dennis Rogan has provided a spark in the return game. Bryan Hahnfeldt has made 11 of 17 field goals, Brett Upson averages 38.5 yards per punt. Moore is third in the SEC in kick returns (27.6).



Vandy is playing for its first bowl bid since 1982. UT is playing for a perfect home season and to maintain control of its destiny in the East Division race. Vols still remember 2005 loss at home to Vandy.
