Thursday Afternoon Practice Report

Casey Clausen got the news last night. "You are not 100 percent, but you're ready to go."

All week Casey Clausen and Dr. Bill Yeomans could not find an appropriate time to get together for a checkup. That finally happened last night and the news was pretty good. "Got the news last night," Coach Fulmer said. "That is great news for our football team. I am happy with the way the young quarterbacks have prepared themselves." Coach Fulmer seemed very relieved that he has his football team set for the clash with Alabama.

On the field, the team looked very intense and focused. I, personally was pleased with how they worked today. Today was the best practice of the week in my opinion. The defense was very serious and listened very close to what Coach John Chavis was telling them about the Alabama offense.

Here is how the injury scene looks:
Demetrin Veal: Did not practice today, but Fulmer says he will play on Saturday.
Alex Walls: Has kicked very sparingly this week and Fulmer says Phillip Newman will handle the kickoffs. Walls will kick extra points and field goals Saturday.
Anthony Herrera: Will not start, but will be available if he is needed.
Cedric Houston: Practice full speed and looked almost back to form. Should be a factor on Saturday. Coach Fulmer said wasn't sure if Houston would be the first back on the field, but he would play.

Alabama will arrive into town tomorrow and stay at the Airport Hilton on Alcoa Highway. That just happens to be a matter of public knowledge.

Tennessee will have a walk-through at Neyland Stadium on Friday. The Vol walk is scheduled for 4:45 pm EST. Go Vols.
