Tuesday Afternoon Practice Report

The Tennessee defense was very intense on Monday. It was hard to believe that they could come out on Tuesday just as excited. They didn't. They even more electric on Tuesday than they were on Monday afternoon.

With the rain falling hard this afternoon, the Vols were forced indoors to practice. Even though the team is slightly limited while practicing inside, the tempo was very good. Coach Phillip Fulmer was happy with the way his team practice on Tuesday as well. "Good work, good practice. We still got some things we need to work on and get polished up. They have a good running offense and play action off of that, so that makes it tough and we are trying to get the best look we can."

Fulmer must have pleased with his defense and their practice tempo thus far this week. The secondary seemed to be extremely focused today. Jabari Greer had a nice pick off of a tipped Casey Clausen pass during practice. Corey Larkins tipped the pass and Greer picked it off. Rashad Baker also had a nice one-on-one pass breakup of a James Banks pass. Baker was defending top Vol receiver Tony Brown.

The injury scene was like this:
Casey Clausen saw action today throwing the ball in team drills. He is not showing any side problems with his ankle from the win over South Carolina.
Demetrin Veal was back at practice today. He didn't see much action at all. His left leg was iced down following practice. Coach Fulmer said he is very optimistic about getting Veal in the lineup on Saturday.
Michael Munoz was in the University of Tennessee Medical Center today being treated for his infection. Munoz's status for this weekend is somewhat in doubt at this point.
Jabari Davis spent today in the training room today. He did not take any reps or even dress out. Davis should be labeled as questionable right now and will probably be doubtful for Miami on Saturday.

Fulmer will address all injuries on Thursday to get a better idea of who will be available against the Canes.
