Monday Afternoon Practice Report

The Tennessee Vols went back to work on Monday to improve after the Miami Hurricanes ran over the Volunteers.

"Came back out with a good attitude for this game with Mississippi State," Coach Phillip Fulmer said after Monday's practice. "It's gonna be a very physical hard nosed football game. We are not real pleased offensively with what we got done in the last football game, but we are gonna keep working till we get it right."

The team did seem very down today. Players seemed more discouraged today than they have all season. In this situation a letdown against a lower ranked team would be something that would creep into your mind, yet Fulmer said he does not expect a letdown by his team on Saturday.

Coach Fulmer seemed particularly down when he spoke about the numerous amount of injured players he has. A few are still up in the air regarding their playing time.

Casey Clausen did not attend practice today. He had an MRI done on his left ankle at 3pm this afternoon. Coach Fulmer did not have the results, but he anticipated having them tonight.

Michael Munoz did not practice, but Fulmer says he does expect Michael to play this weekend.

Robert Peace does appear to be lost for the season with a broken ankle.

Kelley Washington is still not in practice. He remains out until doctors think he can return. Fulmer said at this point that they practice as is he will not return, while hoping he does come back.
