Attention, Orson Charles

Heralded tight end prospect Orson Charles of Plant High School in Tampa, Fla., is trying to decide between Tennessee, Georgia and Southern Cal. Nice guys that they are, Vol staffers are trying to make his decision a tad easier.

In recent days UT announced that rising junior Brandon Warren is being moved from tight end to wide receiver and that redshirt freshman Aaron Douglas is being switched from tight end to offensive tackle.

These moves leave Tennessee with just two scholarship tight ends, rising junior Luke Stocker and rising senior Jeff Cottam. As a result, a hot-shot tight end prospect looking for a school where he can contribute immediately – say ... Orson Charles, for instance – might be inclined to take a stronger look at the Vols.

Of course, I'm not suggesting that UT announced the moves of Warren and Douglas as a recruiting ploy to sway young Mr. Charles. I'm sure it's purely coincidental that the news of those two personnel changes at tight end leaked out just as Charles' recruitment is heading toward the finish line.

If there's one thing we've all learned the past few months, it's this: There are no hidden agendas when it comes to recruiting college football prospects.

By the way, has anyone else heard the rumor that Luke Stocker and Jeff Cottam are moving to defensive end this spring?
