What does a college coach have to do to keep up in the recruiting wars with a prospect that is holding 32 official offers?
Apparently you have to recruit the young man harder than anyone else is, make a great impression and earn his trust.
"Oh yes sir I have a lot of interest in the University of Tennessee," Cann told InsideTennessee.com. "I would have to say that Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina are recruiting me the hardest."
Reaves, the Vols quarterback coach and the former recruiting coordinator at South Carolina has definitely made a good impression on the standout offensive lineman.
"Coach Reaves is a very cool guy," Cann explained. "We have great conversations all the time, I call him a lot and talk about everything, and he is very easy to talk to. You can tell he really loves and believes in Coach (Lane) Kiffin and the University of Tennessee."
Cann recently narrowed his 32 offers down to seven favorites, Tennessee made the cut.
Although Cann hasn't been to Knoxville Tennessee yet to see the campus, he feels that he has already been there through his research and the things he has read other prospects say about the campus.
"Everybody says how great the town and the campus is, it's impressive to hear other top prospects say those things," Cann said. "I'm excited about getting the opportunity of seeing first hand for myself what all the excitement is about. I will take a trip there sometime this summer, maybe for a camp."
Although he has never met him personally, Cann was impressed with Coach Kiffin on television talking about his goals for the Volunteer Football Program.
"You can tell he is there to win National Championships," Cann said. "He truly believes they are going to win, they are building something special in Knoxville."
