This has been a busy week for Miami Gulver Prep's Ralph Williams.

On Monday he received an offer from the University of Tennessee.

On Wednesday Vol Defensive Coordinator Monte Kiffin paid a visit to William's school, something that truly left an impression with the Florida linebacker.

"Coach Kiffin is one of the best in the business," Williams told InsideTennessee.com. "For him to take time out of his busy schedule to see me was very impressive."

Williams decided Friday night after a spring scrimmage to become Tennessee's seventh commitment for the 2010 recruiting class.

"It's the right place for me, a choice for me to play at the next four years," Williams said. "Coach (Eddie) Gran did a great job recruiting me. He kept everything very real with me."

One thing that impressed Williams about the University of Tennessee was Kiffin's plans on how to use him in his defensive system.

"Coach Kiffin explained to my high school coach how he wanted to use me in their defensive system," Williams said. "We are a perfect fit for each other."

Tennessee has picked up six defensive pledges and one offensive pledge so far this spring; linebacker is a definite need area for the Vols.

"To play for a NFL legend is unreal," Williams said. "We will be playing for national championships at Tennessee in the near future."

Williams, a 6-foot-1, 220-pound athlete who runs a 4.58 forty, is being recruited to play linebacker for Tennessee.
