Tennessee's Summer Camp is only a week away and it will be the first for Lane Kiffin and his staff since arriving in Knoxville.
As the athletes prepare to descend upon UT's campus, Inside Tennessee.com recently spoke with Luke Colbert, Quarterback of Montgomery Bell Academy in Nashville, who is looking to make a name for himself.
Forced to split time with a senior last year, Colbert's numbers pale in comparison to other senior signal-callers; however, he sees this summer and fall as his time to come into his own.
What have you been hearing from the Vols?
"Well, I've been talking to them for a while. It began with Coach Clawson and then after the change was made, I started talking mostly with Coach Chaney," said Colbert. "They really want to get me into camp and see what I can do."
Currently, the 6'4 205-pound senior doesn't have any confirmed offers, but several schools have been making contact. Other than UT, Colbert has received interest from Vanderbilt, Louisville, Miami (OH), MTSU, UNC, Duke, Furman, and Clemson.
Because of his lack of opportunities during his junior campaign,Colbert said he knows he still has more to prove under center. Given these circumstances, look for the Nashville native to make a decision during the season as he continues to raise his stock.
When asked what he thought of Neyland Stadium on gamedays, Colbert replied, "The atmosphere is unreal. I mean you can get excited just sitting here talking about it!"
