One Tennessee High School prospect grew up rooting for the Big Orange and White.
Memphis Christian Brother's High School kicker Corey Acosta has attended more University of Tennessee Football games than he can count, he has Rocky Top memorized by heart.
After taking in 14 camps this summer, the talented three star prospect is awaiting his first offer.
"It's been going crazy this summer," Acosta told InsideTennessee.com Monday morning. "I haven't got an offer yet, several schools seem close. Syracuse and Southern Mississippi seem to be the closest."
Acosta attended the Volunteer kicking camp earlier this month and turned in an outstanding performance, an offer from UT would be a dream come true.
"I'm waiting to see if they offer or not," Acosta explained. "It would be a dream come true to get the offer and to play for the team I grew up loving."
Acosta is aware of the Vols extending an offer to Florida prospect Michael Palardy and understands that might affect his status.
"They have one offer out right now," Acosta said. "Coach Eddie Gran has been very upfront and honest with me. He told me I did a great job at their camp and that I was the best one there that day. We will just have to wait and see what happens with the one they offered."
Palardy told InsideTennessee.com Monday that he may make a decision as early as Thursday, with Tennessee and LSU his top two schools.
"If it's meant to be I will get an offer, if not I may end up playing somewhere else," Acosta said. "I did my best at a lot of the camps I have attended, I'm confident some things will end up happening for me. UT would be a dream come true."
