In this weeks InsideTennessee.com Mailbox feature, our recruiting analyst James Bryant answers questions from our members about Tennessee Recruiting. Will Jesse Scroggins end up at UT, if not what will be the alternatives? These questions and others are answered in this premium members only feature.

Question: James where do you think Jesse Scroggins ends up at, is he going to be a Vol?

Answer: I have said from day one I thought Scroggins would be a Vol, this is until last week. I made a lot of California last week and it appears that as of late Friday evening he appears headed to USC. Staying closer may have won out in this decision, look for the announcement sometime this week rather than July 25th.

Question; If the Volunteer coaching staff doesn't get a commitment from Jesse Scroggins what do think will be the logical course of action?

Answer: Well Chase Rettig is who they are hoping for. If for some reason he doesn't commit to UT and goes to Boston College, then I would look for UT not to offer anyone else immediately. They will probably take a wait and see approach with several high school seniors to see who has a break out season. Nick Lamaison will be a Vol if he passes one or two summer courses needed. Don't look for this coaching staff to go into panic mode, they are experienced and will come up with a legitimate plan. I would say that there is a good chance that even if the land Rettig, they will still wait and see before offering anyone else at the current time. I would expect them to take two high school quarterbacks if possible.

Question: Do you think Nick Lamaison is the answer?

Answer: I think Lamaison will be a win win situation for UT. He adds experience and will give the Vols three quarterbacks for this fall. Even if he doesn't ever see the field at Rocky Top, this is a great situation for him, gives him an opportunity to win a job on the SEC level. If that dream fails he can always transfer back down to I-AA or Division 2. This gives him a legitimate shot at playing big time football while giving the Vols a much needed option under center.

Question: Will there be some surprises before signing day, some big time athlete that is flying underneath the radar?

Answer: With this coaching staff there will always be a few surprises. There a few prep players at Hargrave and a couple of other prep schools that could end up being Vols.

Question: How big would it be for Tennessee to land Brandon Willis and Corey Miller out of South Carolina?

Answer: It would be HUGE. They were by far the best two athletes I saw at the defensive line camp earlier this summer. Expect the Vols to take at least one more defensive lineman, but if both wants to come to UT, look for them to take both. Corey is speaking really high of UT at the current time.
