Gayden has interest in playing at UT

It's no secret that Lane Kiffin needs to sign two or three junior college offensive linemen for his 2010 recruiting class. One target appears to be College of Sequoias Roszell Gayden. With several offers already in hand, does Gayden have interest in the University of Tennessee. Go inside to get the latest on his recruitment.

Growing up living in Minnesota, one junior college prospect didn't expect his journey to Division 1 football to end up being a cross country adventure.

For former Minnesota commitment Roszell Gayden, that it's exactly what the last two years has been for the four star offensive linemen.

After signing with the Gophers he failed to qualify academically, now with his grades in line, the 6-foot-7, 315-pound offensive tackle is looking for a new home.

"I really don't have an early favorite right now," Gayden told "I'm very open to anyone that is interested in me."

That interest includes official offers so far from Cal, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Iowa State, Minnesota, Memphis and Southern Mississippi.

There is one school that the College of Sequoias lineman would definitely be interested in, that's the University of Tennessee.

"I have kept up with Coach (Lane) Kiffin over the years," Gayden said. "I would definitely be interested in playing at Tennessee."

So far UT has showed a little interest, something that the talented lineman expects to increase over the next couple of months.

"The SEC is one of the best conferences in the country," Gayden said. "Tennessee has always had a solid program."

Currently Gayden is on track to graduate in December.

"My grades are going good right now," Gayden said. "It's been a long road, my goal is to play D 1 football, hopefully that will happen soon."

Gayden started all 10 games last fall and has already earned pre-season All-American honors.

He also isn't the only Gayden on the Sequoias roster, Rashad Gayden is a middle linebacker.
