Four more UT hoops games on TV

Four more Tennessee basketball games for the upcoming season have been selected for television, bringing the Volunteers' number of regular-season TV appearances for the 2009-10 campaign to 23, including 14 games set for national telecast. Both totals are likely to increase.

As part of the Southeastern Conference's comprehensive television package, UT's non-conference home games against College of Charleston (Nov. 27), North Carolina A&T (Dec. 23) and Charlotte (Jan. 6) all were picked up by Comcast Sports Southeast. Similarly, Tennessee's Nov. 17 home game against UNC Asheville was selected for telecast on FOX Sports Net.

Tip times for all four games have been moved to 7 p.m. ET.

An initial draft of Tennessee's 2009-10 basketball schedule incorrectly noted that the Vols' Dec. 31 game at Memphis would air on CBS. That game actually will be carried on ESPN2 — one of 14 UT games set to air on the ESPN family of networks.

And UT's home game against Kansas on Jan. 10 will begin at either 1:30 or 4:30 p.m. ET. In addition to its college basketball programming, CBS also televises NFL games, and the Tennessee-Kansas game falls on NFL Wildcard Weekend. The NFL gives CBS 6-12 days notice on game times, thus, an early wildcard kickoff time could push Tennessee's tipoff from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (but the Vols will definitely tip-off at one of those two times).
