Sullins up for award

DALLAS -- Tennessee center Cody Sullins has been named by the National Football Foundation one of 54 Football Bowl Subdivision semifinalists for the 2009 William V. Campbell Trophy (formerly known as the Draddy Trophy).

The award is often considered the "Academic Heisman."

A three-time Academic All-SEC selection from Cottontown in Middle Tennessee, Sullins has started all five games this season at center, including the last two alongside his twin brother, Cory. The former walkon earned a scholarship last year and has vaulted himself into the starting lineup as a leader along the offensive front.

The Campbell Trophy, first awarded in 1990, twice has gone to Tennessee football student-athletes: Peyton Manning in 1997 and Michael Munoz in 2004.
