Phillip Jones won both the one- and three-meter springboard diving events but it wasn't enough as Tennessee's swim team came out on the short end of a 122-121 squeaker with No. 6 Florida Saturday in Gainesville.
Vol head man John Trembley called the meet ''a great battle,'' adding that his team ''just needed to find a little extra.''
Tennessee also got victories from Renato Gueraldi (50 freestyle) and George du Rand (1,000 freestyle).
Next up for UT is the SEC Championships scheduled Feb. 19-22 at Auburn.
