IT picks the SEC

The SEC West title is likely to be determined this weekend when division-leading Alabama (5-0) hosts second-place LSU (4-1) in Tuscaloosa.

Sadly, the only other game on today's conference slate that offers any intrigue finds Arkansas hosting South Carolina. Top-ranked Florida hosts a fast-fading Vanderbilt team, while the other SEC teams chose this weekend to face non-conference fodder. Tennessee hosts Memphis, Ole Miss hosts Northern Arizona, Kentucky hosts Eastern Kentucky, Georgia hosts Tennessee Tech and and Auburn hosts Furman.

InsideTennessee analysts Randy Moore and James Bryant went 6-1 each on last week's SEC Picks, as did guest picker Dave Hooker of the Knoxville News-Sentinel. Dave leads for the season at 57-11, followed by Randy (53-15) and James (52-16).

Here are their picks for this week:

Randy's picks

LSU AT ALABAMA: In the battle of first-year starting QBs I'll take Greg McElroy over Jordan Jefferson ... but not by much. Bama 20, LSU 13

SOUTH CAROLINA AT ARKANSAS: The Hogs are all about the pass, and the Cocks have a quality pass defense. Carolina 24, Arkansas 17

FURMAN AT AUBURN: In case you're wondering, Paladin were the knights of Charlemagne's court. You already know what a Tiger is. Auburn 49, Furman 7

VANDERBILT AT FLORIDA: The Dores' Bobby Johnson has given Florida some tough tests in recent years. This game won't be one of them. Florida 38, Vandy 10

TENNESSEE TECH AT GEORGIA: The Dawgs have lost three of their last four games, so this is just what the doctor ordered. Georgia 45, Tennessee Tech 10

EASTERN KENTUCKY AT KENTUCKY: The Big Blue is 1-4 against SEC foes but it's about to go 4-0 against outsiders. Kentucky 37, EKU 7

NORTHERN ARIZONA AT OLE MISS: The Rebels look like a preseason top-10 team ... when they face Football Championship Subdivision teams like this. Ole Miss 49, Northern Arizona 0

MEMPHIS AT TENNESSEE: The Vols will be looking ahead to Ole Miss but it won't matter a whole lot. Tennessee 31, Memphis 7

James' picks

LSU AT ALABAMA: This will have to be the game of the week. LSU will upend the Tide 20-17.

SOUTH CAROLINA AT ARKANSAS: Start calling the Hogs now, Arkansas will keep Spurrier's losing streak intact. 31-17 Arkansas

FURMAN AT AUBURN: Auburn will better its bowl game with a win over Furman, 52-14.

VANDERBILT AT FLORIDA: The Gators could win this one with Super Boy instead of Super Man Tebow. Florida 52-14.

TENNESSEE TECH AT GEORGIA: Georgia will beat Tennessee (Tech) this time, 41-18.

EASTERN KENTUCKY AT KENTUCKY: Kentucky will get back on track with a 45-21 win

NORTHERN ARIZONA AT OLE MISS: Ole Miss will prep for Tennessee by playing 1AA team. Rebels 51-14.

MEMPHIS AT TENNESSEE: Tennessee will get closer to becoming Bowl Eligible, they will beat Memphis 42-17.

Dave's picks:

LSU AT ALABAMA: Don't be surprised to see an LSU upset but I'll take Bama at home. 13-10.

SOUTH CAROLINA AT ARKANSAS: The Gamecocks know the November fade routine all too well. Arkansas, 30-20

FURMAN AT AUBURN: The Tigers seem back on track. 35-10

VANDERBILT AT FLORIDA: Even with the officials seemingly against them, Florida wins 33-10.

TENNESSEE TECH AT GEORGIA: Even Georgia can beat Tennessee Tech, 40-9

EASTERN KENTUCKY AT KENTUCKY: Kentucky is too tough not to close out down the stretch with a good run. 28-13

NORTHERN ARIZONA AT OLE MISS: Jevan Snead and his hair will be too much. Ole Miss, 40-10

MEMPHIS AT TENNESSEE: The Vols are still hungry despite playing well lately. UT 40-6
