Recruiting and rumors go hand in hand.
They usually don't start that early, but it appears that everything in recruiting at the University of Tennessee is on a fast track and is ahead of pace.
For one Louisiana high school prospect, he is hearing the rumors but isn't listening to them.
Tennessee commitment Rissean Broussard has been committed to the Volunteers for several months now, which apparently hasn't stopped the rumors that he was decommitting from UT and headed to in-state school Louisiana Tech.
"I keep hearing that rumor, there is nothing to it," Broussard told InsideTennessee on Monday night. "I'm still very much committed to Tennessee."
Broussard's senior season has ended; his high school team lost in the state playoffs, 38-32, last week. According to the talented defensive tackle, his season was a big success.
"I don't have my exact stats," Broussard said. "I did really well; it was a great way to go out my senior year."
Broussard hopes to get the chance to perhaps take in a game at Rocky Top now that his season has concluded.
"I would love to get up there and see a game," Broussard said. "I still have a great relationship with Coach (Ed) Orgeron and Coach (Frank) Wilson. Everything is good with Tennessee and me."
Broussard is a 6-foot-2, 280-pound athlete who runs a 4.9 40. He is currently ranked as a three-star prospect by Scout.com.
