Tennessee holds No. 1 spot for Cullen

There are always a lot of different reports this time of year in regards to recruiting. Some reports would have you believe that Tennessee may not stand a chance in landing California junior college lineman John Cullen. InsideTennessee.com caught up with Cullen on Sunday night to see where the Vols stand. Go "Inside" for the latest on his recruitment and see why UT is No. 1.

It's no secret that the Tennessee Vols are in need of some offensive linemen in this recruiting class.

There have been several different reports circulating on the Internet about one junior college prospect; InsideTennessee.com hopes this story will clear things up to a degree.

California OL John Cullen named the Vols his No. 1 team with at least one or perhaps two official visits left.

"Tennessee is my No. 1 school," Cullen said Sunday. "The visit is what did it for me at Tennessee. There was nothing about it that I didn't like. I loved the Southern hospitality; I loved the game day atmosphere."

Cullen plans on taking an official visit to Utah on the 14th; he has already taken visits to Arizona State, Tennessee and Oklahoma.

"I have Utah in a couple of weeks, and I may take my last visit to Kansas State," Cullen said. "The Tennessee coaches have made it clear how much they want me and need me in Knoxville."

Cullen keeps in touch with the Vols coaches and realizes they would love to get a commitment from the California big man.

"I'm sure they want me to go ahead and pull the trigger," Cullen said with a laugh. "They know they are in good shape with me, and they don't seem to be worried about me taking other visits."

Cullen plans on signing at the school of his choice on signing day, and a decision could come as early as after the Utah trip or perhaps after his fifth visit.
