Derek Dooley | Louisiana Tech Head Coach
Stock Rating: Coming around the corner? The son of former Georgia Coach Vince Dooley, has done a good job at rebuilding a smaller Louisiana Tech team. Known as a great recruiter at every school he has been at, Dooley has long been expected to be wanting a SEC type job.

Kyle Whittingham | Utah Head Coach
Stock Rating: Interesting for now. This one could be very interesting. The same two offenses at Tennessee and Florida going up against each other. Let's see who is the better coach, Whittingham or Meyer. This would be an interesting hire.

Randy Edsall | Connecticut Head Coach
Stock Rating: Constant name for all big jobs. Known for doing a great job at UConn, Randy's name has surfaced possibly as one of the four finalist for the Tennessee job. He has done a tremendous job at a smaller program and has proven to be a winner and a great recruiter.

Kevin Sumlin | Houston Head Coach
Stock Rating: Up-and-coming young coach. Another great offensive mind, former offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State, who has proven he can win at Houston. If he can lock down recruiting in Houston he will do well in the south recruiting in the SEC. Sumerlin deserves a shot at BCS School, will that be at Tennessee?

Troy Calhoun | Air Force Head Coach
Stock Rating: The frontrunner? Calhoun was thought to be a finalist for the job last time, appears to be in the running again. While Vol fans may cringe at running the triple option at Rocky Top, expect Calhoun to adjust to talent just like he did at Air Force. His NFL background would make you think he would run a pro style attack instead of the triple option that he uses now.

Gary Patterson | TCU Head Coach
Stock Rating: Way Up. Although it was reported that Gary Patterson signed a long term contract with the Horned Frogs earlier in December, it appears that he may be the new top candidate to replace Lane Kiffin. According to multiple sources, Tennessee Athletic officials were in Fort Worth on Wednesday, expected to speak with Patterson about the Rocky Top vacancy. A veteran coach and proven winner, will he leave TCU is the question?

Kippy Brown | Tennessee Interim Head Coach
Stock Rating: What do you mean interim? Long time Vol coach for both Johnny Majors and Phil Fulmer, Brown made it known today he was a viable candidate for the vacancy. Perhaps a long shot to land the position, the Tennessee native talked about what he loved about Tennessee, the traditions and what it mean't to be a Vol. This coach brings a lot of NFL experience and a lot of coordinator experience but lacks head coaching experience. He made it clear today he is a Vol born and bred and wants to take over the UT program.

Kirby Smart | Alabama Defensive Coordinator
Stock Rating: Hot and rising. Coming off winning a national championship, Smart is one of the top young coaches in the business. He has a history in the SEC and knows what it takes to build a championship type program. He is also known to be a great recruiter, something the Volunteers need in their next head coach.

Guz Malazan | Auburn Offensive Coordinator
Stock Rating: Steady but unproven. Malazan is another great offensive mind that has taken the Tiger's offense to new levels including an impressive victory over the Vols and a big bowl win for Auburn this year. He has only been a college coach for a few seasons, will the lack of experience keep him from landing a job such as the one in Knoxville?

Todd Graham | Tulsa Head Coach
Stock Rating: Proven and steady. Coach Graham has done great things at Tulsa and Rice, is he ready for the big time SEC. He has surrounded himself with high power offenses and he has a lot of experience on the defensive side of the ball.

Jim Harbaugh | Stanford Head Coach
Stock Rating: Proven winner, hot commodity. He has proven he can win at San Diego State and Stanford. Can he do it in the SEC. He can do it with smart kids, he should be able to do with great athletes from the South. Coaching runs in his family and he would be a good choice for the Vols. Would he leaves the west coast to come back East?
