Ambles no longer committed to Vols

Markeith Ambles is no longer committed to the University of Tennessee. After two visits with UT coaches today, that doesn't appear to be enough to convince him that he belongs in Knoxville. According to his father, Tennessee is still in it, and the family will spend some time doing more research. Go "Inside" for the latest.

One of Tennessee's commitments got two visits from the Vol coaching staff on Tuesday, but apparently it wasn't enough.

Henry County High School athlete Markeith Ambles is no longer committed to Tennessee, according to his father Keith Ambles.

"Right now he has decommitted," Mr. Ambles told InsideTennessee.com Tuesday night. "The visits went well; the new wide receiver coach is a pretty smooth guy. We have just decided to decommit and look at some other schools. Right now Tennessee is still in it."

It's apparent that the Ambles family really liked the previous coaching staff and even the departure of Kippy Brown has seemed to keep things off balance.

"It's nothing against Tennessee, it's just the timing of the situation, it's awful," Mr. Ambles said. "This whole thing has caught us off guard."

Mr. Ambles plans on spending the rest of the evening and Wednesday doing a little research on the Vols new receiver coach, Charlie Baggett, and on new head coach Derek Dooley.

"I need to do some more research on both of those guys," Mr. Ambles said. "I know Coach Baggett has spent most of his time in the NFL."
