New Tennessee Head Football Coach Derek Dooley has been on the job less than a week; to say it has been hectic would be a mass understatement.
It appears that one of his main tasks at hand is saving the recruiting class the previous staff had put together before its abrupt departure.
InsideTennessee.com learned Thursday that one former commitment Calvin Smith will get a personal visit from the Vols new head man later today.
"Coach Dooley and an assistant coach are due here later today," Hialeah Coach Berman said. "I had a great conversation with Coach Dooley the other day; I'm looking forward to meeting him."
Do the Vols stand a chance to get the defensive tackle back in the pledge bank for Tennessee?
"Most definitely, Calvin loved it at Tennessee," Berman said. "He hated what happen with the coaching staff and the timing of it. He realizes it's a business and it wasn't anything personal. We will see how things go after today's visit."
Coach Dooley and staff will also visit DE Corey Lemonier while on the Florida campus.
Stay tuned to InsideTennessee.com for the latest with the Smith recruiting situation. We will have an update later.
