"I'm really excited about next weekend's event," Pearl said. "It's a great way to spend the evening before the Tennessee-Florida game. I'm tremendously thankful to coach Donovan and everyone else who has jumped on board to help us raise funds for OUTLIVE."
Numerous former Vols and Lady Vols also will be in attendance at the event, which is limited to the first 100 couples to register ($1,000 per couple). Registration is available online at www.UTOutlive.org or by calling 865-305-6611. For more information or if you have questions, please email email@example.com.
"It's my hope that we can raise $100,000 through this event alone," Pearl said. "I'm confident we can do it. Every penny is going to directly help those who are affected by cancer."
On the day following the OUTLIVE social, Sunday, Jan. 31, Tennessee hosts Florida for a 1 p.m. ET game at Thompson-Boling Arena.
The OUTLIVE initiative was started last season and has netted more than $93,000 to date for cancer research and prevention education efforts. This year's OUTLIVE t-shirts are now on sale and can be purchased online at UTsports.com, at all Tennessee Traditions locations, at East Tennessee Walgreens locations and at UT Medical Center.
The second year of OUTLIVE culminates with an "orange out" for UT's home game against Kentucky on Feb. 27, during which all fans are encouraged to wear this year's orange OUTLIVE t-shirt.
