It appears that 2011 will be a better year in recruiting in the Volunteer State of Tennessee.
One high school in the Volunteer State that appears to have several D1 prospects this fall is Smyrna High School.
Deon Meadows, a 6-foot-0, 205-pound linebacker, is starting to hear from several schools.
"Right now I have heard a lot from Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky and Tennessee," Meadows told InsideTennessee.com. "A Tennessee coach came by my school before signing day. I have some interest in Tennessee."
Meadows and his family plans on taking some near by visits to college campuses to check out each school first hand.
"We are making plans to visit Tennessee, Memphis and a few other in state and schools that are in the area," Meadows said. "Its all about the college environment for me."
Meadows feels that his speed and his hard hitting are two factors that make him a pretty good linebacker.
"I love to hit and destroy the ball carrier," Meadows said. "I feel that I'm a good leader on the field."
Meadows is looking for a school that has a good football program with a stable coaching staff.
"I'm looking forward to getting to know each coaching staff at the schools that I'm interested in, that's important to me," Meadows said. "The school has to have a great home feel about it, and a great environment."
