Posey to make announcement May 4

Athens, Georgia, offensive lineman Alan Posey made another trip to Rocky Top to check out the Vols Orange and White game this past Saturday. Decked out in all orange, Posey took in the Vols spring game. He will announce what school he will be attending on May 4. How do the Vols stand for his services? Go "Inside" for the latest on his recruitment.

In less than 18 days one of the top offensive linemen in the state of Georgia will make his decision on what football program he will be playing at in college.

It appears that there is one school that stands out for Athens, Georgia, athlete Alan Posey.

While Posey isn't hiding the fact that the University of Tennessee has definitely got his interest and attention, he was unwilling to say that the Vols were a lock for his services.

Dressed in an orange polo shirt with the Power T on the pocket and wearing a Tennessee cap, one might think it's a given where he will be headed.

"I had a great trip to Knoxville this weekend," Posey told InsideTennessee.com. "This was the first chance for my mom to get to see the campus."

Posey has already admitted that he has a lot of interest in the Vols - the question is what did his mom think of the university on the Tennessee River?

"She loved it," Posey said. "She now can see why I like it so much."

Posey told InsideTennessee on Sunday that he will announce his decision on May 4, and we asked him if he had already made up his mind.

"No not completely," Posey said. "I still have a lot of other options to think about before making my final decision."

Posey has made several trips to Rocky Top over the spring and is very familiar with the UT campus setting.

"There isn't much I don't know about the school," Posey said. "I think I have seen everything they have to offer."

Posey spent a lot of time Saturday getting to know the UT coaching staff a lot better.

"I spent the morning with Coach Chuck Smith," Posey said. "I got to watch him meet and greet the UT fan base. The fans are amazing, I love how much they care about their football program."

Posey was also impressed with the Orange and White game.

"I enjoyed watching JaWuan James and Tyler Bray, watching how they performed yesterday," Posey said. "I'm going to be an early enrollee also, that could be me next spring."

Posey, a 6-foot-6, 310-pound offensive lineman, is currently holding official offers from Tennessee, Clemson, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Maryland, and LSU.
