As the clock is ticking, one former Vol has been getting a little nervous.

For former Tennessee All-American Eric Berry, the time is near, he will know his future in the next few hours.

Will he be a Kansas City Chief? Will he go to Tampa Bay? It might even be Cleveland.

InsideTennessee.com got a chance to catch up with Berry last Saturday after the Orange and White game to get his thoughts on the situation.

"It's hard not to get some butterflies" Berry said. "I'm trying not to focus on it too much."

When asked about all the publicity he has been receiving the very humble defender responded as you would expect.

"I have read a few of the articles, a couple of them have been really good," Berry said. "I appreciate all the kind things said about me. Some things some have said I have used to motivate me to make me better."

Berry gave several people credit for a lot of his success.

"I have been blessed to have some great coaches, and be surrounded by a lot of great teammates," Berry said. "All of those guys have made me better. My parents get a lot of credit for the player I have become."

One general manager in the NFL has been noted as saying that Berry is one of the best overall prospects he has ever seen.

"I work extremely hard," Berry said. "It's great for people to say those things about me, but it won't keep me from working even harder."

While some teams have spoken to the outgoing UT junior about playing different positions, most teams are thinking of Berry to play the safety position.

"Some teams have talked about me playing corner, but I feel that most are saying safety," Berry said. "Playing corner limits me a lot in the running game. Tennessee figured that out and that's why I played more safety to help the defense out in a lot of ways."

When asked if he had any clue where he might end up, Berry smiled.

"A lot of GM's are saying a lot of things," Berry said. "Most have asked me to keep all of that talk under wraps. I'm just waiting to see who it will be."

Berry did say that he hopes that the experts are right about him going in the first 10 picks.

"I sure hope so," Berry said. "I will be honest, I would be a little disappointed if I wasn't pick in the first 10 picks. I would feel like I must have done something wrong somewhere along the way."

Berry is looking forward to the next part of the journey of his life.

"I can't wait to Thursday night," Berry said. "Yes I will be a little nervous, I can't help it. This is the game I love and I'm ready for the next level and part of my life."

Let's go Vol fans, chant with me.

Eric Berry, Eric Berry.

Let's hope that name is called early tonight.
