Already having several key offers, including one from the defending SEC and National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide, one Memphis prospect picked up another official offer from the University of Tennessee.

Holding an offer from the old coaching staff at UT, Memphis Central outstanding athlete Cameron Clear picked up the offer he has been waiting for - another offer from the new Tennessee coaching staff.

InsideTennessee.com spoke Monday with Memphis Central Head Football Coach Rod Gaston for his thoughts on the situation.

"I got the call Friday morning from Coach Charlie Baggett that they were offering Cameron," Coach Gaskin explained. "He was extremely excited about the offer. He likes Tennessee a lot; they may be tough to beat out."

According to Gaskin, it was the offer that Clear had been waiting to arrive.

"He was waiting and wanting that offer," Gaskin said. "He was glad to see them get back in on his recruitment."

It appears his relationship with a couple of current Vols is helping UT's chances.

"He is really good friends with Marlon Walls and Greg King," Gaskin said. "It would make going to Tennessee a lot easier for him."

Does Gaskin expect his star athlete to make a final decision in the near future?

"I definitely expect him to make it before the fall season starts," Gaskin said. "He wants to get the decision and distraction out of the way."

InsideTennessee.com first introduced readers to Clear after the regional 7-on-7 Badger Tourney, where we got the chance to see the talented athlete in action firsthand.

"Cameron is a special athlete," Coach Gaskin said. "There is no doubt about it; he can be a difference maker for some team."
