Memphis defender holding one offer

Several of the Volunteer State top athletes were in Nashville on Saturday morning for the De'Vinner Foundation Combine. Memphis Wooddale's Kevin Green was on hand for this weekend's event. Go "Inside" to see what the talented defender had to say about his recruitment and his thoughts on the University of Tennessee.

One of the state's top defenders is already holding one official offer.

Memphis Wooddale's strong safety and outside linebacker Kevin Green led his team with over 105 tackles as a junior, and now he is waiting for more offers to come in.

"Schools have been stopping by a lot this spring," Green told at the De'Vinner Foundation Combine held in Nashville on Saturday. "I have one offer from Memphis; I'm expecting some more hopefully in the near future."

Schools that are currently recruiting Green include Alabama, Tennessee, Louisville and Arkansas.

"I like Tennessee a lot," Green said. "One of their coaches has already come by the school. They seem to like me a lot."

Green also likes Ole Miss.

"I like their work ethic," Green said. "They are doing good things with their football program."

Green, a 6-foot-1, 200-pound athlete, turned in a 4.57 40 at Saturday's combine.

"I thought I did pretty well out here," Green said. "My hard work is paying off."

What makes Green such a good defender?

"I'm a great tackler," Green said. "I lead by example on defense. I love going after the ball carrier."

Green has good size and is very athletic. He is aggressive even playing 7-on-7. Good hip movement, backpedals well. Covers a lot of space and defends well in space. Look for him to pick up several more offers before his recruitment is over.
