Charlton County athlete Chris Milton confirmed with InsideTennessee.com Saturday evening that he indeed has an offer and interest in the Volunteers.
"I got the offer Friday afternoon," Milton told InsideTennessee. "It was a pleasant surprise. I thought I would have to go to camp there before getting an offer. I was glad to get (it) early."
Milton is being recruited as a corner by Tennessee, and has 15 offers, with two others from SEC schools South Carolina and Vanderbilt. His offers are from South Florida, Illinois, Purdue, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, East Carolina, Duke, Middle Tennessee and Western Kentucky.
Milton a 6-foot-0, 180-pound athlete runs the 40 in 4.46. He plays quarterback and defensive back for his Charlton County High school team, which went 11-1-1 last fall.
"I'm looking forward to going to camp at Tennessee this summer," Milton said. "I want to get to know the coaching staff a lot better. I like Tennessee a lot. They have a lot of tradition and one of the top teams in the SEC."
Is Milton close to committing to any particular team?
"No, I'm not close to making a decision at this point," Milton said. "I want to check out some other schools before making a final decision. Right now I'm wide open."
Milton is being recruited by Tennessee's defensive line coach, Chuck Smith.
