Raiques Crump was one of Derek Dooley's latest commitments, but he is ready to start his career now on Rocky Top.
Crump seems to like everything about what Dooley and the University of Tennessee have to offer.
"I like the atmosphere, the tradition and the people," Crump said. "And the fan support."
Crump said he is set to arrive on campus just after Memorial Day, and he has high hopes for his first fall camp.
"I want to get bigger, faster, and to learn the system," Crump said.
Crump has been preparing heavily since his last high school football game, including working out with his basketball team to help stay in shape.
"I still lift weights and condition with the basketball team," Crump said. "Also, since I have changed positions I have been doing drills with the secondary to work on my coverage and hips."
Crump previously played defensive end in high school. The Alabama native has already been in contact with a couple of his future teammates, one in particular.
"Willie Bohannon and I talk on Facebook chat often," Crump said.
Crump is also excited about continuing his education, as well as meeting new people on campus.
"I want to study sports management," Crump said. "I am excited to meet new people and better my education."
Crump feels ready for his college life, but he hasn't done it alone. An abundance of supporters have helped get Crump to the cusp of his college career.
"I think everyone has played a part in preparing me, including my friends, church family, teachers and principals," Crump said.
Crump is currently listed at 6'1" and weighs 215 pounds. He was rated two stars by Scout.com coming out of Minor High School.
