A recent Tennessee official offer brought a smile to the face of a California offensive lineman.
For the Pasadena Blair High School offensive lineman it was a very pleasant surprise.
"I got the Tennessee offer a couple of days ago," Wilson told InsideTennessee.com on Monday. "I'm very happy about it. It brought a smile to my face; I'm not going to lie."
Wilson plans on taking either an unofficial or official visit to Rocky Top over the next few months.
"I definitely want to go there and check things out," Wilson said. "It's a great school and they play in one of the best conferences in the country."
In fact, Wilson and his family may take a summer trip in the near future.
"We have family in Atlanta and Alabama," Wilson said. "We were planning on taking a trip anyway. Now, this gives us a reason to go to Tennessee."
Wilson, a 6-foot-3, 285-pound, offensive guard, played on a high school team that only won one ballgame. He hopes this season will be better. The standout offensive lineman missed a lot of his junior season with a bad ankle.
While Wilson admits it's still early in the recruiting process there are three schools that stand out for him.
"USC, Boise State and Tennessee," Wilson admitted. "Those three schools would have to be my early favorites."
